It is just that these hiccups Intel is currently having are pretty sad.

You've obviously never worked in new development of previously unconceived high tech products.

Short term, I agree. Long term, no one will care.

Anyone remember Pentium FDIV? I do; I had my first internship at Intel at that time, and that FDIV fiasco turned Intel from well-respected leader in semiconductors to the laughing stock of the industry, at least for a few months. But now only the staunchest of anti-Intel people even bring that up anymore. People forget very quickly.
