could be interesting: U.S. stocks that are active in European markets.....


....U S West Inc. (USW) rose 20, to 74 7/8 in London and
Frontier Corp. (FRO) climbed 12.3 euros, or 23.3 percent, to 65
in Germany. Qwest Communications International Inc. (QWST), the
No. 4 U.S. long-distance phone company, offered to buy U S West
and Frontier for $66.4 billion in an attempt to break up Global
Crossing Ltd.'s (GBLX) bid and gain millions of customers. Qwest
slid 0.2 euro, or 0.5 percent, to 42.3 in Germany. Global
Crossing rose 1.3 euros, or 2.7 percent, to 49.
