Noo, it's always been split up. It's the only way you can analyze gold. You need a commodity demand/supply curve, and a currency supply/demand curve. To do any less would get you trash for results.

Commodity curves are cyclical and tided to producers output prices, and currency curves are transient and tide to only certain countries. Often they clash, and that's when volumes pick up.
