I hereby swear.. It was in a Denny's. 3 a.m.ish. I was waiting to make a call overseas to ask for money to get me and my friends home. It'd been a long, rough trip. We had enough left for me to get a cup of coffee and make the call. The waitress kept filling my cup while I kept trying to get through. And there, from above (where else) came a voice.. not that I hadn't talked with her before (definitely a she) but I'd never heard her out loud. I was a little peeved that she did it in public. I could get in trouble if I answered out loud back to her. She had not a lot of good things to say to me, either. I hurumphed and said I'd take it under consideration.

Am I crazy? Did it not really happen? Those questions don't concern me. As far as I'm concerned it did, it does, and it works for me. I'm also not concerned with whether or not anyone else believes in her or talks with her. Frankly, she can be quite irritating and demanding. I wouldn't change it for myself, but I wouldn't wish it on anyone either. <g>

Whether Christopher's personal engagement was with a deity, a manifestation of the collective unconscious, or a personal fantasy is really quite irrelevant to me. He believes it to be a deity, fine. If he believes otherwise, that is also fine. Unless he starts trying to stuff his belief down my throat, I'm not going to challenge it. I might discuss it, if it were a subject that interested me, but I don't see any point in attacking it, or in demanding proof.

A statement of personal belief requires no supporting evidence, unless the person making the statement is trying to convince others to hold the same belief. Saying "I believe the sky is green" is very different than saying "the sky is green". I don't quarrel with the beliefs of the evangelists who drop by here. I do quarrel with their habit of stating their beliefs as fact. There is a huge difference.

If Chris Land would say "I think the bible is the unadulterated word of God" instead of "the bible is the unadulterated word of God", I might privately think him an ass, but I would not say it in public.

Unfair, nihil! Foul!

Yet Christopher was apparently unfair, too...Must get back to him on that. <g>

I discuss my experiences with people who have a serious interest in them. I am not interested in discussing them with people like you who are just playing "gotcha" or who take joy in being as negative and destructive as possible and intentionally trying not to understand. No matter what I say you will deliberately try to twist it to fit your warped and nihilistic view of humanity. I have better things to do with my life, and better people to do them with.
