Marc: Good point. I let it go because Ian criticized the policy and not Clinton and the debate was over when I first saw it with Ian and Brian making their arguments and leaving it there. Imagine that -- a fairly civil debate. But you are right. Discussions regarding Clinton lead nowhere fast and I guess that our policy against discussing Clinton bears repeating. We want happy threaders here so everyone feels more inclined to buy stock in justabid.com. BTW, brother, can you spare a dime because my internots are in meltdown mode <g>.

Re: "Attempts to intervene against child labor e.g. is a complex and emotional issue for which good points can and have already been made for both sides but based on the history here discussion of this and other political or moral issues can open up a Pandora's box which will again turn this thread into something it is not meant to be ..."

I would rather read one well thought out post, by someone like Ian or Brian, on a subject dealing with a real problem, instead of reading huge numbers of ridiculous posts on imaginary Internet companies.

Best wishes,

I2

marc, regarding off-topic posts, personally I found it rather refreshing to see somebody discussing a real-world issue, as opposed to the steady diet of "happytalk" posts about fictitious Internet acquisitions that we have been getting lately. I also don't see what was so off-topic about it. The discussion remained civil, nobody mentioned Clinton, as far as I saw, and at least our trade policies are something that have economic impacts. And I think Bob Brinker has made it clear, through his comments on tobacco investments, that the social consequences of one's acts are a worthwhile subject of discussion.

** OT ** Marc: Looks like the responses to your enforcement post revealed those who dare to short justabid.com <g>. All I can think about after a day like today is the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz saying : "Help me, help me ... I am melting." And in an effort to capitalize on this situation, we at justabid.com will be auctioning off all the cows that were born to intermelt investors today. Ouch, baby, ouch. Mr. Market can be very nasty.
