Serengeti Minerals Ltd - Serengeti Minerals plans to integrate WebReward with categore.com Serengeti Minerals Ltd SGD Shares issued 25,822,979 1999-06-14 close $0.12 Tuesday Jun 15 1999 Mr. Ian Brown reports Serengeti Minerals is proposing to acquire categore.com, a Web site portal that facilitates the search and retrieval of information from the Internet. This allows users to quickly view and select the best site, category or guide to their area of interest. Subject to regulatory approval to the above acquisition, Serengeti plans to integrate WebReward with categore.com. WebReward will be an incentive program designed to channel Internet advertising expenditure directly to viewers. WebReward will pay its members for displaying a small information and advertising window on their computer screens (the categore window). The window will change periodically and contain details of selected products and services. Viewers will be paid according to the amount of time they choose to display the window. There will be no obligation to make any purchases, and the window may be hidden or disabled at any time. Revenue will accrue to the viewers whilst the window is displayed. Membership in the WebReward program will be free upon completion of a simple registration form. In addition, WebReward will pay continuing referral fees to its original members for every new person introduced to WebReward (the first referrals), and extended referral fees for subsequent introductions made by the first referrals - for up to four levels beyond the original referral. The WebReward payments will be made as a proportion of the advertising revenue received by categore. The larger the group of viewers the larger the amount of advertising revenue that will become available for distribution. Original membership in the WebReward program will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The company invites expressions of interest in membership in WebReward by E-mail to tgallagher@serengetiminerals.com. Serengeti will remain active in mineral exploration, including its 25-per-cent free-carried interests in six Tanzanian target areas with the AngloAmerican Group.
