Well, I must admit I have little faith in my fellow man. But I do not believe in a lot of unnecessary regulation or laws. I also beleive that rules must be applied uniformly. A predictable (not guaranteed) result is all that insures compliance with the rule of law. JLA

Well said Mama Bear. If only public officials took their oaths to the Constitution seriously we'd have a start. Some replies to my posts suggest a feeling of hopelessness. Few public officials seem to even consider the Constitution, let alone what a boon following it could be. JLA admits he doesn't have much faith in his fellow man, and I submit that most public officials feel the same way- and if that's how public officials feel, the Constitution is only something that is in the way.
