AOL Picks Inktomi Software To Add Web Search Power

Monday June 14 11:45 AM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Leading Internet access provider America Online Inc. (NYSE:AOL - news)
said Monday it would add photo search, foreign language search, multimedia search and other features to
its Web search services on several sites and networks using Inktomi Corp.'s (Nasdaq:INKT - news)
Web software.

Expanding its relationship with Inktomi, America Online said in a statement its AOL and CompuServe online services and
AOL.COM Web site would later this year feature a new next-generation search product driven by Inktomi software.

The new service is also designed to allow members and Web-based users to personalize searches by choosing preferences that
will be remembered each time that person performs a search.

Inktomi, based in San Mateo, Calif., develops and markets scalable software designed for Internet infrastructure and media
companies.
