RE: "Linux OS on CD, but ultimately they expect service for Linux to take over as top revenue producer. They did talk better scalability than NT, and much better robustness than Windows. Some customers of theirs were also talking about how they liked Red Hat, sort of a groupie thing like with Apple (bring flames). Of course, it's not for everybody (faint of heart?). When I asked about some of their well known customers, they mentioned some, gave me a flyer, which I left at home. Anyway, Red Hat has begun its road shows leading up to their IPO. "

Hi Tony,

Here are my thoughts:

One of my entrepreneur friends started a company (one of Lycos top 50/it had a nice write up in WSJ), and his site got attacked by a hacker due to an unknown Sun Solaris security hole. The CIA and Sun's "Solaris swat team" were both involved. My friend identified the cause of the Solaris bug and Sun fixed it.

He now uses Linux Red Hat...

.... to minimize security breaches and to maximize administrative remote access capability. He hasn't had a problem since.

Regards,
Amy J
