Like you, as a rule, I always stay away from Market orders. Otherwise, it can really get away from you. However, I read an article saying that Market orders are the only thing that drives price up. It was a rather good argument. (buy I won't do it...)

btw - I took advantage of the clerical ex date eror and delay to buy pre-split. Happy with the action today. Good start to the week...<g>
