Paul,

For how long will the K7 ASP's be in this range?

I expect that PIII 550's will continue to sell for $700, and that K7-700's will sell for about $40 (plus change.) Customers will flock to the PIII's because of the awesome Intel brand name, and will spurn K7 because of Paul Engel's negative recommendation.

Paul,

"For how long will the K7 ASP's be in this range?

A quarter ?

A month ?

3 days?"

For your sake Paul, I hope it is for several quarters. Otherwise the chances are high that you will see your nest egg shrink substantially.

Paul, Re: For how long will the K7 ASP's be in this range?

That is easy, so long it is not available. We saw the same
for K6-3. Its ASP was 400+ when announced but when it is
generally available on pricewatch, it dropped to what the
old K6-2 top speed price range which is around 200.
