Salt'n'Peppa, By professionals, it's often known as Deception . Plant the seed of a true statement into fertile minds, mix in some occasional fertilizer, add healthy doses of water, and let the Deception grow. Often, there is no falsehood in the deception -- except that which the listeners / observers imagine themselves. In fact, the most successful deceptions are based on truth and carried out by those other than the deceivers. Most recent case in point was Desert Shield before it became Desert Storm. Remember the Marine's pending amphibious assault onto the beaches of Kuwait City? Never uttered by the military authorities other than as a possibility. Press/TV spokespersons (I hesitate to call them journalists) grabbed that ball and ran with it [plant the seed and let it grow] until it was ALL you heard about the pending land war. Their use was never denied. The "invasion" flotilla steamed around in the Gulf for days with the press stumbling over themselves in order to get the most current angle on the amphibious assault forces and courses of action. All the while Schwartzkopf was moving his true attack forces out of sight over the horizon. NEVER heard them mentioned -- until it was too late for Saddam's intelligence network (CNN TV) to give him the correct story. Same here -- the poster hasn't (from the few, and I mean few) posts I've read of his -- uttered a false statement. I'm certain the lawsuit and documents are quite interesting. Not that they're relevant to any profitability moves, past or present, of FCM. But I'm certain they're intriguing -- often legaleze is to those with nothing to do but grow thoughts in other people's minds. FWIW. rd
