Is anybody here concerned about the extremely poor transaction response time with E*Trade. It sometimes takes me 10 minutes to log on. Once I get on, it may take several minutes for a quote. Sometimes it takes several minutes to buy or sell. There have been several times when I can not get logged on or when I can not get a quote and when I can not trade.

I have a 56K modem and usually get connected at 44K. I clean out cache before every connection. I use limited graphics.

The E*trade system SUCKS. I am investigation other Brokerages and will move. I would not put a penny into this piece of sh*t.

No, margin is a bad thing.

You are asking for troubles if you buy on margin.

Although it is not very pleasant today, hopefully it did the trick (i.e. selling climax). I rather see a big drop than gradual drop. On the other hand, I rather see gradual rise than big rise. After all these damages, the interesting thing is the fundamentals of E*Trade still does not change. Think about it as the future McDonald or Walmart.
