Richard,

You have no sense of protocol. I specifically dealt with you via PM in order to take this little personal conflict off of this thread.

The gold market is manipulated. It is manipulated by the big production houses, the buillion sellers, and the Central banks.

For years the POG has been manipulated. It was manipulated to $800/ounce and the Central Banks, IMO, were forced to buy it to keep it at a sustained artifical price in order to prevent further distortion of the global economy.

So they accumulated or they held off from selling their already vast hordes of gold.

Who are you to place this burden upon the public in forcing the CB's to hold physical gold, thus removing it from the commodities marketplace?

They can sell it is they wish. They certainly have held it long enough and there is no ethical or legitimate reason to continue permitting the CBs to subsidize this industry any longer.

So I'm not a gold fan. So I don't see gold as money like you do. That's my right.

I can't spend gold without either converting it to cash or finding a way to break it up into smaller quantities that match the item I'm purchasing.

The gold coins that are being sold are being sold at a premium to the price of the underlying metal.

Gold is a P*ss poor commodity to peg currencies to since there is so little of it and it prevents economic growth and the ability to manage monetary supply to meet economic challenges.

Had we been under a gold standard two years ago when the "Asian Flu" hit, this planet would now quite likely be in depression. That would equate to people like you and I getting our pink slips and shown the door.

We'd both be picking up unemployment checks then, wouldn't we?

So forgive me if I have no love for trying to manage a world economy solely upon the amount of a shiny yellow metal we can dig out of the ground.

Personally, I can't think of a greater waste of time and economic resources than mining metal only to demand that Central Bankers buy and store it.

What a great scam the miners have had going on for years.

Regards,

Ron
