Morgan, as a buy-and-hold type, today was just a cover-my-eyes day...wouldn't have the nerve to daytrade

I think in the future, tho, I will slightly modify my method, which is when stocks are soaring, take my original investment off the table, so the rest is pure profit no matter how it rises and falls. I'm thinking about that...

Congrats on being the rare person on this thread having a good day!

Morgan, Congrats on the shorting day. Once the AOLs etc. started dropping, you could sense the selling was not going to let up. Margin calls tomorrow might do some more damage---since the drops today were significant. If we only saw small declines, I would believe that most of the selling in the nets has let up and mutual funds are ready to buy.

I did not do any trading today--I have been switching on-line brokers and did not get around to some trading. Basically sticking with my MSFT holdings---stocks and in the money calls. I would have added shares to trade (long) if it had dropped a couple of dollars. Glad to see MSFT hold up even though it is a high PE stock.

Another high PE stock, Cisco still lost about 2.5% today. I might trade this one tomorrow--long and short. It might be influenced by some cross-currents----stock split and positive recomendations against the high PE. Should be very volatile.
