<Do a little bit of research, you will find that AMD is already shipping 400MHz laptop parts to customers.>

Could you do the "little bit of research" for us and post some links to AMD-based 400 MHz laptops? As you know, it's much easier for us to find Intel-based 400 MHz laptops than AMD-based ones. Care to guess why?

Re: "To rub a little more salt into Intel's wounds - Do a little bit of research, you will find that AMD is already shipping 400MHz laptop parts to customers."

Not to mention the fact that AMD is there with .25u while it took Intel a shrink to .18u in order to make it happen.

To paraphrase Yousef:

Doesn't look good for Intel's process technology, IMHO. <GGG>

Chuckles - Re:"P.S.: To rub a little more salt into Intel's wounds - Do a little bit of research, you will find that AMD is already shipping 400MHz laptop parts to customers."

Sure - "shipping" to Compaq and CyberSmash.

However, Intel's CUSTOMERS - INCLUDING COMPAQ - are shipping 400 MHZ Pentium II notebooks TODAY.

That will definitely contribute to Intel's earnings this quarter - and next.

Chuckles - Re: "Intel is hanging by a thread Paul. "

If they are, the other end of that thread is tied around AMD's neck.

You speak so confidently for an AMD lover - who must have forgotten that AMD has lost money in every one of that last 3 years - and started off this year with the largest quarterly loss in their history -

and Prudential thinks AMD is going to FOLLOW this grand success with ANOTHER $100,000,000 loss this quarter.

CHOKE !
