Carolyn, I think we all care, or we should at least be curious as to how GNET will fit into the scheme of the final set-up. Do you think this will be announced at the stock holder meeting? R

Will it use Windows or Linux?

Neither one. The settop needs a small and fairly specialized OS. That's why Microsoft is trying to sell CE to settop makers. Sun offers a Java-based alternative. Others alternatives are also available.

According to another story that I read last week but can't find at the moment, Microsoft is trying to sell Charter on CE, but doesn't yet have an agreement with them.

But it sounds like we'll hear much more about the shape of the convergence as envisioned by Paul Allen in the next month or two as more of these deals close.

The prior post is a good general blueprint, but remember, they don't call it Island Electonic Clearing Network for nothing, if Washington regulators don't play, other countries will, Ireland?
