Perhaps the cause for the decline in price is the most obvios and tangable reason... When was the last time Ampex announced a sale of a product??? It all comes down to this eventually. You must have sales to make money to fund all these ventures. Their storage systems sales have been in remission for years now and while they must find sources for new revenue they have to be wary of overextending themselves finacially and keep an eye on the bottom line. All these TVontheWEB press releases are fine and dandy but Ampex will only see 51% of any profits if there ever are any.That is not where they are going to make their money. MicroNet and Ampex data systems had better hope they can turn the tide. MicroNet is losing money and Data systems sales are in a deep slumber. Somehow they have to find a way to raise revenue. I think this investment may be a lot riskier than we all imagine.
