Ok, thats something different - AON orders.

At the time it is good to tell that Dateks don't offer All or none right now, so it can produce partial fills - however, I don't miss it really.

And another exception is: consider you are offering 6 1/4. But somewhere else, maybe on an ECN there sits a "S" order on 6 7/32 or even 6 1/4. You may get displayed, but executions are hard to get.

FOr the orders < 100 ("odd lots") there is no representation on L II or best bid/ask. Only on ISLD limit book you can see small orders.

David, I used to have an account with Fido. I went through the same "bovine manure" that you did. I'm concerned about Datek and their lack of responsiveness. BUT, they are head an shoulders above Fido. When they are good, they are GREAT! When not, well that's another story.

Actually, since I'm a relatively new daytrader, I think some of my problems have to do with my lack of understanding of how the orders are processed. I.e., when the MoMos get them (SNET'd from Datek) they take forever to cancel.

I'm looking at two other brokers - DeltaTrader (www.deltatrader.com) and CyberCorp (www.CyberCorp.com). Both are working with Quote.com to interface to QCharts (great product). I'll probably make a decision within the next two weeks.

Regards,

Dan.

Question for everyone -

I believe that on two occasions, Datek has duplicated my order.

When it happened today, I was selling PCLN, and I ended up short. This definitely proves a flaw in their system, since PCLN is a NS stock, so it shouldn't have let me enter a short sell. (Should have held the short for a while, but I didn't.)

I got two different order numbers, with the exact same time shown for the entry time. The second order shows as a Short Sell. I would post my Daily Activity, but Datek is unresponsive at the moment (although they were quite speedy this morning).

Has anyone else experienced this, or is it possible that mouse-button noise can cause a second press on the send button, before the screen redraws from the first send? It still doesn't account for their allowing a short on PCLN.

A proper design of their system would assign an unique number to the Enter URL, and reject subsequent presses of the same Enter button.
