Hey pea brain, Capital gains were higher after Reagan's 1986 tax act. That was one of the trade-offs that he had to make with the idiot democrats. As for Desert Storm, Iraq had invaded and occupied Kuwait. So, Iraq was already IN before the U.S. The price of oil went up but demand for oil went way down due to the recession.

Fewer and fewer soldiers were coming to Schofield Bks, HI, while more and more soldiers were getting medical and other discharges. Everybody was talking about the cutbacks, and nobody was talking about fear of war or some "debacle" as you say. You're so mixed up in your thinking that I cannot imagine that you even have the ability to put any critical facts together to draw any kind of realistic conclusion on anything of importance, you PUNK.
