David- The chances of Dell missing its consensus estimate this quarter (.17) are pretty slim...

Margins would have to remain flat (7.8%)...this IS possible...likely....HOWEVER, revenue growth would have to slow to less than 4.5% from last quarter...THAT is unlikely....despite the fact Meredith pointed to "mid-single digit revenue growth" in the CC...this likely means north of 6%....take your pick....6.5%, 7%, 8%...but in all likelihood not less than 5%..

By all accounts, PC sales have been strong in Q2...IDC recently upped their year forecasts....

.17 seems a pretty inescapable conclusion this quarter.......the real question is what the forward will be and especially comments about Y2K and Dell's new growth initiatives...
