Perhaps. But how about this one: Williams (WCG) and Metromedia (MFNX) just formed a nationwide alliance that gives each access to the routes of the other. It fits this bill to a T. Well, maybe T is the wrong letter here.

That's one of the main reasons they're acquiring GTE.
