i think logan was pointing out differences between enhancements to radio-- such as those you discussed-- as opposed to the development of a new medium, viz., the internet. the point i think she is making is that the internet represents an entirely new medium with much more uses developedmuch more quickly than the transistor/electronics represented for enhancments to radio. implicit in her post is that cmgi is a key player in shaping this new medium.

of course some stocks will make it and some won't-- just as some of the nineteenth century sooners became land and cattle magnates and some went bust. so the point is non controversial. the corporate world is such a dynamic flow that weaker companies-- such as many of the .coms-- will in fact fail. but many companies--like cmgi-- will not, imho. many of the .coms are way overvalued for what they do, regardless of how you value them. i don't think cmgi is. there is an interesting discussion of this pullback by brad goldstein at www.internetspeculator.com. if i were competent enough, i'd make it a link (sorry).

all fwiw. excuse me while i mop up my blood from today. at least i'm not margined-- i own all my (shrinking) cmgi!
