The problem is that once you remove all valuation guidelines the stock price can be anything. That means the stocks can be volatile in both directions.

Just be glad that the brokerage houses severely limited the marginability of these stocks. If the owners of these stocks were 50% margined they would have nothing left, and this DOT correction would be much worse. My CMGI for example is not marginable at all at Schwab, but you won't hear me complaining.
