Schlumberger confirms direct sales to Japan Schlumberger has begun direct sales of semiconductor test systems and diagnostic systems in Japan. The company confirmed the shift to direct marketing today. Previously, the company had outsourced distribution and services of its products in the Japanese market. Schlumberger will now sell all of its products -- ranging from design verification equipment to high volume production test systems -- directly to customers in Japan. This includes the ITS 9000 series for logic test, the RDX2200 series for characterization, design validation and debug of RDRAM devices, and the full range of diagnostic systems products based on the company's electronic beam and ion beam technology. The Schlumberger semiconductor sales office is headquartered in Tokyo, with service centers in Osaka, Kumamoto and the company's Fuchinobe headquarters.
