ORLAND PARK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 1999--Andrew Corporation (NASDAQ: ANDW) adds manufacturing capacity at its new Global Broadcast Headquarters in Tinley Park, Illinois, U.S.A. The 36,000 square foot facility houses administrative, production, and research and development facilities for Andrew range transmission line and antenna products for global broadcast markets.

"We've increased our manufacturing capability in order to meet the growing demand for our complete line of broadcast products," said Kinsley Jones, business unit manager, Andrew broadcast products. "In the U.S., the large number of stations transitioning to digital television means manufacturers must add capacity to meet the demand. The recent acquisition of Passive Power Products Inc. gives us the full range of DTV-ready products to provide complete RF systems to our customers." The addition of the Tinley Park facility adds needed capacity to manufacture broadcast components to meet customer schedules.

Products made at the Andrew Tinley Park Global Broadcast Headquarters include: ALP Series antennas for low or medium power broadcast applications, HMD Series broadcast antennas for wireless cable applications, GUIDELine(R) circular waveguide, WIDELine(TM) and MACXLine(TM) rigid coaxial transmission line for high power VHF and UHF transmission requirements, and connectors and accessories for HELIAX(R) air dielectric cable. An anechoic chamber to support R & D and production tuning is also under construction.

Air dielectric HELIAX cable, TRASAR(R) and PANAR(TM) high power VHF and UHF antennas continue to be manufactured in facilities at Orland Park, Illinois. Combiners and filters are produced at Andrew Passive Power in Gray, Maine.
