Doug,

It's a tough lesson to learn. I used to believe in gold backed dollars, but that was before I understood its limitations and the economic turmoil that has resulted from pegs to rare metals. Hard money is not an end all, be all, if it is not put to work or at risk.

I became interested in analyzing gold from my research into Y2K and the numerous comments I was hearing about people selling everything and buying gold and silver. Years ago it was all the rage to buy physical gold but not to try to understand the market or the economics.

As a result there are many people who have lost muchos dollares simply because they have believed the doom and gloomers and the people who rail against Central Banks selling gold they have monopolized for far too long.

That's kinda why I get so "offensive" about the gold-bugs who think gold is all that matters, or who question your patriotism when you don't support a gold standard. They may think they mean well, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Regards,

Ron
