Nokia trades to a new high and nobody cares?
Nokia seems to be rallying into earnings as
usual. However this quarter's comparison should
be the toughest of the year.
The momentum with their CDMA phones is shocking.
I would think that qualcom or some American firm
like Motorola would be grabbing these sales, not
this Finnish company that does all this gsm stuff.
let's see 1mm to telebras and 2mm to Sprint?
I wonder how their 7000 series is selling. I suspect
later this year they will continue to put some more
hurt on their competition with several new phones.
Well at least the Swedes have figured out how to
play Nokia's game. Just put out more black boxes.
When will these guys figure this out? I think Ericy
could be a great investment if they ever came out
with a cool phone.
An analyst I spoke to last week said the story now will be
a multiple expansion story with Nokia. Clearly it
is the least expansive gorilla in the tech universe
when looking at pe to growth rates. I guess everyone
figures their guidance is for real in spite of the
magnitude of their upside earnings surprises.
Well, Microsoft has played this game well for years.
I just think it's a cultural thing.
Cheers, Typhoon
