IMO - This licensing agreement could be HUGE.
If we assume OTHER Foreign consumer electronics manufacturers are
abreast of this development, they might well be inclined to "step in
line". If it is VITAL competitive technology, this could dwarf other
recent news since royalties have a much better route to the bottom
line.
I was reviewing the last 10-k & it shows the following royalty income: 1996=$10.5mil, 1997=$12.6mil, 1998=$10.6mil. Of course, these are from ALL sources. $16.7 million over 3 years from ONE
source averages by itself to $5.6mi/yr.
In the past, AXC's royalty stream has been VCR's & 8mm camcorders.
The 10-k mentions them looking into digital television receivers, video games, 4mm camcorders, & DVD TECHNOLOGY!! This could be really
something here. Additionally, IMO the DST/Micro-Net storage potential
has been overlooked completely with the massive storage/VOD/HDTV makeover needs coming up.
I'm inclined to believe that Mr. Bramson would serve us well to focus
a little bit on royalty/patent details on 6/28, stressing that AXC is
maybe the ONLY internet company in such a situation.

As far as I am concerned, what we saw in the Mitsubishi
patent suit reversal was "common sense" overturned by legal
obfuscation. I don't recall the exact details, but I always thought
a legal review process was done "on the record" as it existed without
the judge asking for additional info. Oral arguments OK, but no more
"testimony"........V
