It is silly to look at history that way. Slavery has been widespread in human history- you can't expect people of the 18th century to think like people of the late 20th century. Slavery existed in Greece, Rome, Africa, Asia- everywhere. It still flourishes in African and the Mid-East. So if you want to get upset at people I suggest you get upset at the people still doing it. I find historic guilt ridiculous. Everyone, from every culture, has been involved in something horrible (by today's standards)- we are none of us responsible for the past- only the present.
