From Earnings Whisper.com (what it's worth):

Last quarter Oracle (ORCL) beat the analysts' consensus estimate by one cent but fell short of the
whisper number by two cents. The stock fell $8 the next day. This quarter there is not as much
optimism about the Company's earnings. We had a whisper number of $0.32 for a few weeks and
the consensus estimate has now dropped from $0.34 to $0.32. However, despite Oracle having a
track record of beating the estimates by a couple of cents each quarter, the overall gut feeling after
the May 13th analyst meeting has been that the company may fall short of the estimates this time.
The top estimate is currently $0.37 and the low is $0.29 while analysts from CS First Boston,
Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, and others have lowered their estimates for the
quarter. If Oracle meets or beats the $.32 this quarter, it should be positive for the stock price on
Wednesday.

There are a few analysts that feel much more optimistic than the overall whispering going on. Bert
Hochfeld at Josephthal & Co. believes the company will surprise once again and Vivek Rao at
Gruntal & Co. seems to agree. The fact that there was no pre-announcement made after the analyst
meeting could be a sign that the quarter could be better than previously indicated. One analyst
mentioned that Oracle likes to surprise by two or three cents and really felt the heat last quarter. The
analyst meeting was the Company's way of achieving the surprise - by lowering the expectations.

Your scant knowledge of options is quite evident when you
say that options are only played by specialists.

Do you even know what a specialist does on the Options exchange?
