Introducing Compaq.NET
Providing a Complete Internet Package for Consumers

What is it? Compaq is introducing its own Internet Service - Compaq.NET - in June 1999. Now customers can select an ISP backed by Compaq for use with their Presario Internet PCs.

Why Compaq? Compaq is committed to bringing Internet-age benefits to more people and to offering consumers the widest array of choices. Compaq.NET gives Internet users convenient, reliable service at affordable price points.

Convenience: Compaq.NET is simple to set-up and gets consumers started online quickly with computer and Internet tutorials. With fewer dropped connections and fewer busy signals, Compaq.NET makes surfing the World Wide Web easy every time. Currently, there are more than 700 local Internet dial-in numbers across the U.S (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada with access speeds up to 56K1.
Affordability: After signing up for a free trial with Compaq.NET, users receive 100 free hours of Internet access during the first month2 and pay no additional activation fee. Consumers then choose from a variety of service plans designed to suit all Web lifestyles. Compaq.NET offers three plans with prices starting at $9.99 per month.

Technical support: Compaq's Extra Mile Service provides fast, efficient service and support assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for Compaq.NET customers.

Which plan is right for you? Compaq.NET offers three service plans3 tailored to fit the needs of all consumers:

Value package: Perfect for the customer who uses the Internet occasionally to check email at home, keep up with investments and enjoy limited Web surfing. This package starts at $9.99 per month and includes up to 10 hours of online time per month. There is a fee of $.99 for each additional hour.
Monthly package: Designed for the frequent Internet user who does not want to limit his or her time online. The cost is $17.99 per month and payment is made on a monthly basis.
Annual Pre-pay package: Created to provide the best value for frequent Internet users who don't want to bother with a monthly bill. This unlimited package costs only $11.99 per month and is paid in one single initial payment.

NOTE: Compaq is currently offering and supporting Compaq.NET on new Presario desktop and portables that are being announced today (6/15/99). Over time, Compaq will offer access and support from Compaq.NET for older Presario products to its customer base.
