Starved for Info?? Here's the Stockhouse chatter....WILLP at end. Author: whiskeyjack -- Date:1999-06-15 10:17:50 Subject: Shakeout Great opportunity for a shakeout. Nervous nellies jumping ship thinking someone knows of bad news but in reality we have an uptick of about 40 cents. WSP@ 3.90 + DSP@ .75= 4.65. The sharks are circling and getting about 600 000 minnows so far. Gotta love the way this game is played! Time to go swimming myself, wj Top Reply Author: Positively Charged -- Date:1999-06-15 10:36:18 Subject: Panic disorder strikes! This is so typical of the Vancouver market. The dreaded Canadian underconfidence accellerating into a panic attack. The fear that someone knows something and is therefore selling to get out before the bad news comes out.It is precisely at this point that the astute invest is confidently awaiting the results of an already solid and substantiated mine which puts the stock at 4 bucks with out the benefit of increased tonnage and corroborated bulk sample results! Get a life folks! P. B. Top Reply Author: Corry -- Date:1999-06-15 11:14:57 Subject: Re: Panic It is an interesting situation, being a shareholder of a stock that has a grip on so many individuals. One is faced daily with questions that relate directly to buy/sell/hold. It is not for the faint of heart, as I am quickly learning. However, it is obvious on these threads (SI included) who has been holding for a long period of time. They are the one's still holding onto significant profits and can afford to hold on through this latest shakeout. The sellers, at this point, I would wager, are those who bought in at current levels or higher. I'd be interested to hear from any long term holders whether they are selling right now. The fact of the matter is, if you have real time quotes and click refresh on a frequent basis, you can see that the block sizes are relatively small. In the 1000 shares per trade area. That tells me that it is small investors who, due to their own misgivings, or lack of DD, have chosen to jump ship, or stop losses, whichever the case may be. Either way, I see a market trend setter in Cannacord as a net purchaser, not a net seller. I have seen nothing in the news or in the rumour mill that tells me to be wary yet. I see the a.m. initiation of a spin off company making up for a portion of my losses on the Spear thus far. Basically, I see nothing to make me nervous except for a bunch of electronic sales being made by stop loss orders. Does anyone see this any differently? If so, please post something of substance and I'll be happy to listen to it. I'm not saying that I'm not nervous, I am, all that I am saying is that the selloff appears to be coming from small investors that anticipated a news release today, and didn't get it. Illogical investing IMO, but reality nonetheless. I have never yet seen anyone make money consistantly by using the so called stop loss order system. The actual beneficiary of stop loss orders are the professionals on the floor. They end up getting cheap stock and selling it on the next uptick for a nice trading profit. Stop loss orders artificially increase trading volume and place your decision to sell in the hands of the sharks. I agree that the Johnny come latelies are the main panic artists today who when they saw sub 4 bucks could not believe their misfortune. The pity is that if they were aware of the companies prospects the sub 4 dollar action would not have stirred their fear motivation. As my average cost on WSP is .25 cents per share sub 4 bucks is not a concern and I am sure long term guys like me that watched the antics of WSP over the years are going to stick around for the results simply because we are aware of the quality of the information surrounding this discovery and the evidence to date would strongly indicate that this is a significant Diamond mine in the making with down stream potential to rival Ekati and Diavik! Keep the faith! P.C. Top Reply Author: WillP -- Date:1999-06-15 11:37:21 Subject: Corry & Pendragon Well, I guess I qualify as a long term holder. That's what I'm going to stay. There's no point to bailing at $3.80...if I didn't at $5.30. Tides come and go. What one has to assess...for themselves is: A) The market was leaked positive results...and that sparked the run-up. B) The market was leaked negative results...and that sparked the sell-off. C) The market is spooked by lack of news, and lots of fear, euphoria, and NLW coming out your ears. Maybe browsing these threads will help in making a decision. Personally...I'm spooked. I do my "iguana imitation" whenever that happens. Maybe "Deer caught in the headlights" is a better analogy. Mind you...if I cared that much, I might have trouble sleeping at night. A whack of the profits will go to taxes...and I'll have to sell soemthing to pay that off. And a whack of that will go in taxes....and I'll have to selll.........arrrgggh Mayve if WSP tanks I can at least give Revenue Canada the 'finger'. :-) Regards, WillP
