Avoiding the CPI Crunch

The consumer price index crunch, as expected, is roiling the markets this afternoon. People don't want to take a chance, and the program guys never came back to keep things up in the air.

We all want to see through these numbers. Some of us think we know the number. Others think it doesn't matter. I am in a third camp: I don't know it, and I'm not taking any chances.

Call me a coward. I kind of like the ring of that. Because this is not some sort of Thunderdome/Celebrity Deathmatch contest where I am afraid to show my fear. It's the stock market, and I am confident there will be another opportunity once this number is out of the way.

Random musings: Looks like another round of margin-clerk selling of the Net. Boy, are those guys heartless
