At the moment, in the software industry, I like (and own) Timberline (TMBS) who has a lock in he construction and property management industry and Sterling Commerce (SE) for their established position in the ecommerce business. One of my big favorites for the last year has been IBM for dozens of reasons. One sleeper for a takeover candidate is Proxymed (PILL) If you want to hit a home run, instead of spreading a lot of singles and doubles around, buy as much Neotherapeutics (NEOT) and their warrants (NEOTW) as you can. They have, IMHO, a breakthrough drug for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease and a number of central nervous system problems. Their website has some information but it is not completely current. It is at neotherapeutics.com. It is my biggest holding and has been for a couple of years. Good luck.
