The bad thing about a RS is that the company can issue more shares after the RS and dilute your holdings. It certainly makes sense in some cases, and should not always be thought of in a negative way.

Reverse Splits in the penny world are very harmful to the stock..
This would probably be a large RS say 300-1 or higher..
Many times the stock does not rebound.. The reasons are more dilution after the reverse and shareholders become very negative and it takes a long time to get the trust back..
I have dealt with several reverse splits and only 1 has recovered..
Many are back down to where they were before the split.
The only thing I could see as being beneficial is a stock buyback.
