ysell .. JAWS launched the suit in April against the 2 individuals in order to stop them from using the JAWS name to try to raise money. Bottom line is that it worked. You have asked me an impossible question: are we sufficiently capitalized to fight any/all litigation? We have a $5M line of credit financing in place through TK and are in the process of raising some more money through a private placement. Do we have Microsoft kind of money that could fend off a Department of Justice onslaught? - of course not, not many companies do. However, we will vigorously defend our intellectual property, as we did in this case. Jim Morrison was fired in April and it was a much discussed topic. The fact is that JAWS has grown beyond being reliant on any single individual. XMAIL was developed by the current team of programmers - the Palm Pilot software by another individual. I'm not trying to downgrade Jim's contributions to JAWS, but he took the product so far and the team that is in place now has been more instrumental in commercializing it. JAWS has had the ownership of its intellectual property examined by a number of leading law firms and they have absolutely confirmed our ownership of the algorithm. IMO, there is no explanation for today's volatility other than the Post article.
