Interactive Network, Inc.Announces Chief Technical Officer

June 24, 1999 08:05 AM
BELMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 1999--Bruce W. Bauer, president and CEO of Interactive Network, Inc. INNN announced the hiring of Dr. Robert Brown as the company's chief technical officer (CTO) under a multi-year incentives agreement.

"This is a very important step forward for our Company," said Bauer. "Bob worked for IN (Interactive Network, Inc.) until 1995 where he was the Executive Vice President, Engineering and R&D. He directed the Company's engineering group from its inception and was primarily responsible for the development of IN's acclaimed interactive technology. He was a major contributor to the IN patent portfolio.

"When multi-participants play along with games of skill, or chance, such as live sporting events, game shows and other programming events for prizes or scoring, that technology may fall under IN's patents. Interactive television and Internet play is just starting to take-off in this country and overseas. Bob's return to IN will help immeasurably as we target companies for licensing deals and strategic alliances centering upon IN's intellectual property."

Dr. Brown has over 30 years of engineering management, software and hardware development experience. Prior to working for IN, Dr. Brown was co-founder of the Atari consumer division with the conception and development of the home version of "Pong" and the Atari 2600 VCS game system.

Bauer added, "Bob's commitment to a three year contract represents a vote of confidence in the potential future of IN and marks the beginning of IN's management expansion program. His principle assignment will be to direct the company's patent development program, and the targeting of companies infringing on IN's patents. We are extremely pleased and fortunate to be making this announcement which bodes well for the future of IN."
