I'm hearing rumors that Intel will now have blow-away earnings because of the strong 2Q economy!

Music to my ears!!

We all shall see although only rumors I hear are good to strong reports in the computer industry and the end of this year will definitely be STRONG.

later, leroyt

Joey and thread,

From Prudential's Closing Market Commentary as of 6/15/99:

"....Semi conductor stocks responded to a strong Merrill Lynch recommendation. The analyst raised his estimate for the growth rate in semiconductor revenue this year to 15.5% from 12%. He said demand for computer chips from the telecom industry is the driving force behind the improved numbers. Texas Instruments gained over five, Broad.com jumped over eight and Intel was a point sized gainer.

.....
Internet stocks showed some snapback after several weeks of decline. A study by Nielsen Ratings said more people used the internet in May then in April and spent more time on the web. That follows a four percent decline in April from March. Yahoo gained six, America Online rose four, Lycos gained six and Real Networks gained four.
