Ken, I like Datek for it's fast executions and it's quote streamer. They've talked about options in the past, but nothing so far. Availability of shorts has waned in the past year, so if you're a heavy shorter something else might be better. (Fidelity or Schwab?)

As for execution, I'm basing this on what other accts I use (Etrade, Suretrade, and a local thrift). Etrade drives me nuts.

Ken,

I am very happy with Datek's speed of execution. And very often they get a better fill than either what the market wants, or what I have asked for. Most of my trades fill within 10 secs. Sometimes confirmation is a little slow in coming, but I am rarely disappointed with what actually transpired.

There are some glitches with Datek. It can be hard to log on in the first 1/2 hour of trading. And sometimes their volume quotes and last price are way off (bid/ask always accurate, though). But with their new "streamer" feature, they are unbeatable among the discounters.

For options, which I trade only rarely (OEX only), I use Investrade. Up to 7 contracts for only 14.95. Can't beat that.

TC.
