Bird

I dissagree,
Its a fact E-commerce is here to stay, and although
the weak and malalined companies will turn to dust
the big ones will cash in.

Bird, well ... we all place our bets ... and if you prefer BKS thats fine by me. Despite the different measurements offered for the internuts, I find it difficult to apply anything other than comparatives ... and that is changing as the supply/demand for internut changes. The key to this sector now, I believe, is to pick the good from the bad ... and not be too impatient. E-commerce and the internet continues to grow - and if all else fails, there's bound to be a trading rally sometime (GG).

As for the contracting margins & increased competition, I agree that this is a negative ... but these things usually resolve themselves ... whether in bricks & mortar or in cyberspace ... and thats why its important to have a good site, a brand name & prominent billing in places like AOL. Being early to the game is also important ... but BNBN are well established now.

I don't see why you think having a physical location and all the overheads that negatively impacts margins will ultimately win out ... unless you are a non-believer in e-commerce. It suggests that you believe the margins at the bookstores will always be greater than in cyberspace ... and as more and more people use the internet for shopping I see it actually being the other way around.

Still ... time will tell

Stephen
