james, i admit Amazon is probably the most controversial company in the whole universe.
as Jeff Bezos said in a recent interview: "we could have a huge success [don't remember this first part very good] OR LOSE IT ALL...".
i like that, people who make BOLD BETS.
the potential for Amazon is just enormous, but to invest in AMZN you must have huge FAITH.
it could either become the next Wal-Mart or even bigger in less than a decade, making 1000% or more from current levels for you if you invest now, or the next Boston Chicken or Planet Hollywood...
what worries me is the huge leverage they are taking, the huge debt load.
it's a book with an open ending, but i have faith.
the buying experience at Amazon is just unparalleled, if they can scale that into other product lines, they will have the same success as with books, music and videos.
the Wal-Mart site SUCKS, they are talking about a redesign, but you know what, i went to the site of the firm redesigning Wal-Mart's new site, and it SUCKS too, it's even worse than Wal-Mart's...
these old farts will never get it.
