Mr. Ziemer, Here is my response to the post on RB. I don't see how ECML can be a negative for us at WINR. In fact it may well turn out to be a great positive as this technology is being developed and created free of charge to any entity that cares to use it. The full story can be found at the ECML partners website at this URL... ecml.org . It appears to me(as racer pointed out) that what the Electronic Commerce Modeling Language does is simply allow consumers to pre-format their card (credit or debit) information so that you can "click and drag" an icon on your computer and fill in any order form that complies to this language. It also incorporates a password (something that WINR already does). Can't you imagine a WINRs debit card icon on your computer to click and drag that fills out the vendors information in a click. Thats what this technology allows, and again, along the line of the LINUX Operating System (OS) it is free of charge to anyone who cares to use it.( Last I looked Windows 98 and Microsoft were doing pretty well with their OS even though LINUX is offered free to anyone). Here are a few blurbs from the ECML site.... "The format, know as Electronic Commerce Modeling Language (ECML), uses a set of uniform field names that streamlines the process by which merchants collect electronic data for shipping, billing, and payment" "ECML is not a replacement or alternative to SSL, SET, XML, or IOTP. These are important standards that provide new functionality, such as non-repudiable transactions and smartcards. ECML may be used in conjunction with any of these protocols. Additionally, while ECML has been defined for payment cards today, ECML may be used with any payment mechanism. It simply allows a merchant the ability to interoperate with a number of wallet solutions and make shopping on its web site easier for consumers" "This is an open standard that can be used by anyone and does not require any licensing or usage fees" "Merchants are also encouraged to modify their web forms to conform to the specification". (In other words vendors will have to "conform" read change their sites to conform to this language, read a pain in the butt) Just thought you might like to have the real skinny. As always.... Best Wishes, Swedelo
