Dipy, I just have a small problem with this dividends don't lie thesis and your Exxon example. And that's because the non-dividend payers don't lie either.

In other words, take the same time period and check out the return on a 10k investment in, say, MSFT; or SUNW; or DELL; or CSCO; or many others, all without a dividend (and without the double taxation).
