Spots aka Buttercup

NOW you're thinking for yourself

Well..not really..I just put together the clues you gave with the clues the CD Res-Q manual gave so my expertise at this point would consist of good begging skills and the ability to read sw manuals..over and over again. I'm more proud of the latter <g>

ask Jon
if he can sell you one retroactively with your system.

Good idea..I'll give it a try.

Only with the CD utilities that came with it.

Yeah..I saw them and Plextor is bragging in the manual that they did such a good job with these utilities back in '97 or whenever it was that they are still including them in product releases... how's that for a marketing spin <g> The only one of these that appears to even have marginal value is the DiskManager just to set spindown times... which the default 2 min seems to be fine anyway...

I enjoyed your NT haiku...those things never seize to amaze me at how much emotion and characticure (SP?) they pack into so little space.

I wouldn't mind having DOS 6.2..is it available for purchase as a single product or download?

It's on your Win98 CD already.

Look in the folder [Your CD]:\Tools\OldMSDOS
Combining these files with those found in \Windows\Command\ will give you the working equivalent of the last version of DOS before the files which choke Win98 were removed.

Disclaimer: Check this stuff out for yourself.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. I haven't needed to load these files for my system, so I cannot say for certain which version they're from or if they cause more trouble than they solve.
