In some of the cases, the anonymous individual claims to be an employee of the company, e.g., the Raytheon case. So finding out the names gives you the opportunity to fire them. I think there is also the motivation just to shut the people up. And, yes, make an example of them so as to frighten those who are unwilling to take the risk of being embroiled (don't you love that word? sounds like you've been turned into a steak on the grill) in a lawsuit.
