Pat, re: GILG - GILDER GAGNON HOWE & CO. LLC

I did a little research on these guys:

They're a registered Broker/Dealer and make a market in a few Nasdaq stocks (not TDFX).

They filed at end of 1st qtr for TDFX (4/12/99)
Amount beneficially owned: 1,184,400 (b) Percent of class: 7.5%

They also filed at end of 2st qtr for STB (4/12/99)
1,048,325 or 8.3%

converting to TDFX at .65 =681,411
plus TDFX filing = =1,865,811

So they seemed to have added about 1 million shares (beneficially owned). This means that the shares are owned by a customer of theirs.

As far as their nasdaq trading (GILG), they didn't report any volume as market maker in TDFX for the entire year. This tells me its' unlikely their trading in TDFX for their own account. Here's a link for their first qtr numbers: nasdaqtrader.com

I did a few searches on their name and found nothing worth noting. Couldn't get a description of the firm, no web site, a couple of refernces where they provided some funding, but essentially nothing.

I guess I didn't find out too much other than that I still don't know much about them but I'm curious as to why you're calling them a hedge fund.
