Corel promises quarter of profit
Corel Corp. will show "strong profitability" in its second quarter when it releases results next Monday, Michael Cowpland, the company's chairman and chief executive, claimed yesterday.

...Expectations of a profit have nudged the stock higher in recent days. It closed yesterday at $4.77, up 2¢ (Cdn).

Analysts' consensus predictions are that Corel will report about $67-million in revenue and 7¢ a share earnings in the second quarter, which ended May 31. (All figures in U.S. dollars.)
