ATHM is now back on offense thanks to FCC. Excite@Home plans to hold a press conference tomorrow in an attempt to show that open access would severely hamper the deployment of cable Net access on a large scale.

Hi FIRENZA,

I have to vote for the white bread press being clueless as to the huge significance of the remarks and speech made by Kennard today.

A more cynical view would be that this story would have no legs if the press were to report that the Portland ruling was merely a tempest in a teapot. And that would sell no papers.

Looks like we didn't have to wait 'several years' for a reward. I'll take today's action any time.

Best, Ray
