Kennard is no different than most high government officials. He is just looking for his behind when his term ends. Wanna bet he gets a consulting job with a cable company within a year and half?

The speech he gave to the cable industry today sounded more like he was an advocate for the cable industry than the chairman of a supposedly neutral governmental agency, responsible for rule-making.

Kennard's speech should raise some eyebrows as to his ability to be impartial in the broadband-cable issue.

As a result, I believe AOL should not expect much from the FCC. However, local government litigation may be a strategy which may suit AOL, in slowing T's execution of its cable strategy.

Of course, the best solution would be for an allright deal (this is getting old!) with T.
